Texan and Former San Fran Mayor Willie L. Brown, Jr. Signs Books in Dallas Hudson News Store

East Rutherford, NJ - April 1, 2008 - Hudson News, the nation’s only national newsstand brand, hosted Willie L. Brown, Jr., Texan and former mayor of San Francisco, at the signing his new book, "Basic Brown: My Life and Our Times" at a Hudson News newsstand at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) on Monday, April 7.

The 349-page hardcover book was published by Simon & Schuster in February. The book is a compendium of Brown’s insights and stories about the forces governing the political landscape of America today. Brown was dubbed by The Washington Post as "the last political showman of the 20th century." Former President Bill Clinton called Brown "the real Slick Willie."

It is also the inspiring and funny story of a young black boy who grew up in poverty and segregation, then rose through the Civil Rights Movement to become one of the most respected politicians in the nation. His shrewd understanding and use of political power and political money were instrumental in helping to achieve some of the most far-reaching legislation in American history - measures such as gun control, legalized abortion, gay rights and school funding.
