"We are anticipating a great customer response to Hudson's part of Memphis International Airport's $25 million total concessions makeover," said Scott Brockman, Vice President of Finance & Administration, Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority. "Our focus in this renovation is to create an unmistakably world-class experience for air travelers and we believe The Hudson Group will help us deliver."
Hudson News, a 2004 Airport Retail News Concession winner, known throughout North America for its distinctive store designs and an extensive selection of reading material, opened its first store at Gate C14 yesterday. The store offers hundreds of magazines, local, regional and national newspapers, popular snack items and unique regional gift items such as the barbeque sauces and dry rib rubs from local restaurant favorite, Corky's.
Over the next several months Hudson Group will be introducing some exciting concepts throughout Memphis International Airport. These new stores will incorporate retail items from some of Memphis' most famous icons and attractions including Sun Studios, Memphis Rock 'N' Soul Museum and the Civil Rights Museum.
"We are thrilled to be the first store to open in Memphis' re-development program." says Joseph DiDomizio, Chief Operating Officer, Hudson Group. "Hudson's blend of national and local brands will focus on providing the airport customer improved service, convenience and satisfaction."
Two additional Hudson News stores are scheduled to open within the week at Gate A27 and in the Lobby, adjacent to the Northwest gates.
Hudson Group operates over 400 shops in airports and commuter terminals across the North America.
