The history of Hudson Group officially began in 1926, when the Hudson News Company was incorporated, the business was actually started by the Cohen's family in 1918, when they first began distributing newspapers in New York/New Jersey area as the Bayonne News Company. Today, Hudson News Company has become one of North America’s largest independent wholesalers of periodicals and books.

Hudson County News, a Jersey-based distribution company founded by Robert Cohen, is incorporated and begins a growth cycle that spans for nearly a century throughout the Mid-Atlantic and New England States.
Mario DiDomizio leads the new era of travel retailing along with his staff they open the first branded Hudson News store in LaGuardia Airport, and soon expand to transit locations throughout New York City.
Hudson News expands outside the New York area, opening its first southern stores in Dallas Love Field Airport.
Hudson News Company Retail Division changes its name to Hudson Group Retail Specialists. Hudson enters the Food & Beverage business, offering a diversity of Food & Beverage and convenience retail.
Hudson Group opens its first Canadian stores at Halifax International Airport and soon expands to Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.
Hudson Group acquires WH Smith North American airport operations, virtually doubling in size overnight, making it the largest duty paid travel retailer in North America. At the same time, Hudson Booksellers is born!
Steven Spielberg’s Dreamworks re-creates Hudson News on set of the motion picture The Terminal, starring Tom Hanks. Many filmmakers ask to shoot in iconic Hudson News locations.
Hudson Group becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dufry AG, Basel Switzerland. The Largest Duty Free operator in the world.
Hudson partners with Magic Johnson Enterprises, Concourse Ventures and other local businesses. Hudson wins multiple contracts to revitalize Los Angeles International Airport, our largest win ever.
Hudson Group unleashes “Hudsy”. Hudson re-introduces the company’s core values and adopts its mission to be “The Traveler’s Best Friend”.
The evolution of travel retail continues with the debut of the Hudson store in Seattle and quickly spreads to various locations across the country. The store is the natural progression of what Hudson News has been in travel retail.
In September of 2014 Dufry aquires The Nuance Group-strengthening its global leadership in travel retail industry.

This review is for the Terminal C store. When I walked in I was pleasantly greeted by the person at the counter. Her pleasant and sincere demeanor convinced me to take advantage of the 2 for $8 deal, even though I wasn’t originally interested. It’s easy to write negative reviews when someone is rude or below par, but when someone if genuinely nice and goes out of their way to be pleasant, it deserves to be mentioned and in my eyes merits a positive review.
