North America Travel Retailer Hudson Group Announces the Best Books of 2017

East Rutherford, NJ – November 20, 2017 – Hudson Group, one of the largest travel retailers in North America and a wholly owned subsidiary of Dufry AG, today announced the Best Books of 2017, honoring “The Lost City of the Monkey God: A True Story” by Douglas Preston with the Book of The Year. The titles – voted on by bookselling employees across the U.S. – will be promoted in Hudson Booksellers, Ink by Hudson, Hudson and Hudson News stores across North America throughout the holiday season.

The 2017 collection – which will be complemented by special activities, displays and brochures – includes titles in the 10 Best Fiction, 10 Best Nonfiction, and four Best Young Reader categories. Books were selected for achievements ranging from literary style and innovation, entertainment value and readability, to timeliness and treatment of subjects and themes.

“When I read The Lost City of the Monkey God, I was expecting an Indiana Jones style real-life adventure through the jungles of Honduras… and it delivered so much more,” says Jenn Howle, an Atlanta-based bookseller.

“As the Traveler’s Best Friend, we look forward to pulling together the best-of-the-best titles for our customers, so they can experience the joy of reading with their friends and families,” said Sara Hinckley, Vice President of Booking Buying and Promotions at Hudson Group, which operates over 989 stores in 88 airports and transportation terminals in United States and Canada. “The Best Books of 2017 allow us to do just that – all while celebrating popular and up-and-coming authors.”
